About

Paul Coleman was born in Dublin in 1961.
He graduated from the Crawford College of art and Design Cork
with a degree in Sculpture in 1989. In 1990 he was selected to become
a member of Temple Bar gallery and studios where he received a studio
space and a solo exhibition which was shown in 1991.
Over the past thirty eight years
Coleman has been intrigued by opposites. Positive and negative space,
light and shade and the dynamic interplay between geometric forms.
This ongoing investigation has manifested in sculpture, painting,
furniture design and Jewelry. He is always open to new possibilities
through experimentation, continuously playing with complex
arrangements of forms, setting his own limits in each instant, but
at the same time always ready to escape the frame of any rules and
entering into unknown territory.

Coleman’s work has been exhibited throughout Ireland and in the USA, UK, and Japan. Collections include The Office of Public Works, The National Institute Of Transport and logistics DIT collection, The Bar Council,  Irish Life, Mason Hayes and Curran, Gresham Hotel, John Hunt. Bank of Ireland.
